Anne Isaac, PAVS' Social Care & Housing Planning Facilitator, works in partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council and voluntary sector service providers to support the Social Care & Housing Customer Network. The purpose of the Network is to make sure that people who use Social Care & Housing Services get the opportunity to discuss what works, find out what could work better and decide what needs to change and how.
The Network will hold a number of events a year. Each event will focus on a different aspect of the many Social Care & Housing services in Pembrokeshire. The main points of the discussions at these events will be used to help plan services in the future and to identify whether any adjustments are needed to existing services.
The first of the Social Care & Housing Customer Network Events took place on 16th September at the Memorial Hall in Letterston and focussed on disability services in Pembrokeshire. The event was well received and attended - you can find the event report here.
Throughout June, July and August of 2010 PAVS will be undertaking a consultation exercise on Older People's Social Care services in Pembrokeshire and showcasing the results of the consultation at an event in September.
We want to find out:
- what services people use,
- what services people would like to use,
- what difference services make to people's lives,
- what works well, and
- what could work better.
If you would like to take part in the consultation, attend the event in September or have us come and talk to your group about the consultation exercise please contact us (details below).
Also if you would like:
- to make sure you or your group receive an invitation to events, or
- to suggest a topic for future events or consultations, or
- to discuss us working with you to develop an event for your service users or
- ask us along to do a short consultation with your service users as part of the agenda within an event that you have already planned or one of your regular meetings with service users e.g. coffee morning, luncheon club or drop-in session,
