Children and Young People's Partnership

The Children and Young people's Partnership is the main strategic partnership for children and young people's services and is the vehicle used by the Local Authority to discharge its duties under the Children Act 2004 and associated legislation. Children and Young People's services are delivered through this partnerships adoption of the Single Children's Plan.

The group is made up primarily of Director's, Chief Officers and Heads of Service who hold the decision making power for their organisation or department. The group is alos populated by the Chairs of the Core Aim groups, creating an instant reporting mechanism between these layers of the planning process.

The group oversees the work of the Core Aim groups as well as the Teams Around the Child steering group and the Local Safeguarding Children Board. The group also has an Executive arm which supports its work.

The group is chaired by Cllr. Huw George which gives a direct link to the County Council Cabinet, ensuring that elected members are well briefed on the work of the Partnership.
