Pandemic Planning Network

On the 28th July, an event was held in Maenclochog for third sector organisations across the 3 counties, to look at the role of the sector during an emergency, whether fire, flood or pandemic.

The morning was led by emergency planning leads from Pembrokeshire County Council, who spoke about the role of the sector in an emergency, with particular reference to pandemic.  The meeting was then lead through a number of scenarios associated with an escalating pandemic.  This allowed participants to discuss a range of practical solutions to the challenges presented by the various stages of a pandemic.

After lunch the event focussed on business continuity and contingency planning, when those present were advised on the use of various tools to plan for the impact of an emergency on your organisation.

The day was very well received by all those present and copies of the presentations and tools are available below.

It was also decided on the day that if organisations are interested, we will hold a half day workshop training event, with particular reference to filling out the impact assessments and risk management documents, so that those who attend can be supported in this piece of work and leave the day feeling ready to implement their plans.
